Shaolin Martial Arts Tour

Feel the magic of this ancient tradition through 13 nights, 15 days  in Beijing, Zhengzhou Tagou, Suzhou and Shanghai

China is the home of martial arts, and our tours are aimed at fostering the tradition of martial arts, creating new friendships, encouraging people to participate, and experiencing the profound mystery involved in this age-old activity.

We offer one week of training in martial arts at the Shaolin Martial Arts School, meditation and the daily life at the school, martial arts displays given by Shaolin military monks, and we visit scenic spots and historical sites in the Songshan region. The Tagou Institute is well-known for "the largest number of students, the highest quality and the widest influence".

Sightseeing include Tian’anmen Square,the Forbidden City, Pedi-cab of Hutongs, Great Wall and Ming Tombs in Beijing; Shaolin Temple in Zhengzhou; Nanjing Road, the Bund, Yu Garden in Shanghai, Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill, Embroidery Research Institute in Suzhou


One week intensive training in Tagou Institute, 6 nights 3* Hotel twin share accommodation and 7 nights twin share at Tagou dormitory, meals as specified (B - Breakfast, L - Lunch, D - Dinner), all transfers/transportation in air conditioned buses, English speaking tour guides, all domestic flights, all sightseeing and entrance fees, one cloth each member in Shaolin Taogou School, and Certificate for the training course. Special treats include Peking duck dinner, Acrobatic show in Beijing and short cruise the Grand Canal in Suzhou.


Sample Itinerary:

Day 01 US/China
Board your flight to China today.

Day 02  Beijing
Fly to Beijing. Upon arrival, you are greeted by our guide in China and transferred to the hotel.

Day 03   Beijing (B/L/SD)
Visit Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City in the morning. After lunch, you will have a pedi-cab tour of the Hutongs, the ‘old city’ neighborhood of narrow alleyways and courtyard gardens hidden behind Beijing’s modern facade. Peking duck welcome dinner in the evening.

Day 04   Beijing (B/L/D)
A full-day excursion takes you to the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. Entertained at an acrobatic show in the evening after dinner.

Day 05   Beijing/Zhengzhou/Taogou (B/L/D)
Take a morning flight to Zhengzhou. Upon arrival, tour the famous Shaolin Temple on the way being transferred to Shaolin Taogou Wu Shu (Chinese Martial Art) Institute. Stay at school dormitory. No tour guide service while the training program.

Day 06-11  Shaolin Tagou Martial Art Institute (B/L/D)
Take training course at Shaolin Tagou Martial Art Institute.

Day 12  Taogou / Zhengzhou / Shanghai (B/L)
Transfer to Zhengzhou airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel. Visit Xin Tian Di if time permit. Free at your own leisure.

Day 13   Shanghai (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit Nanjing Road-Shanghai’s famous shopping district, the Bund-the promenade along the Huangpu River. Proceed to the Jade Buddha Temple, famous for its huge statue of Buddha carved out of a single piece of white jade.

Day 14 Shanghai/Suzhou/Suzhou (B/L/D)
Day excursion tour to Suzhou, a small town famous for its classic gardens in the south of China and often so called Oriental Venice. You will visit the Lingering Garden, Tiger Hill, Embroidery Research Institute and take a short cruise on the Grand Canal dug 1,000 year ago in Sui Dynasty. Late afternoon, coach back to Shanghai.

Day 15   Shanghai/  (B)
Free to explore this city on your own path before transfer to airport for you flight back home.
